The ordering and delivery went better than expected and the book is outstanding. Thank you Catholic Productions! You are the best.

A great resource!

The author presents irrefutable evidence in favour of Catholicism. This book is a great resource for Catholics who are engaged in apologetics. And this is one book that shall always belong on my shelf for continuous use.

The Case for the Deuterocanon

I enjoyed Gary's Michuta's first book (Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger), and this one is a useful sequel for those who seek apologetic arguments for the Deuterocanon. My only disappointment is that the verses (80%) in the New Testament taken from the Septuagint and not the Masoretic Text were not identified. That would have made this book a more complete reference text.

Excellent arguments

Gary Michuta's book on the Deuterocanon covers the case for its inclusion in Sacred Scripture in a comprehensive, yet easily understood way.

  • Protestants and Catholics alike share the faith that all scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2Tim 3:16). But one area where they disagree is over which writings make up the Bible. In particular they differ over whether the seven books of the Old Testament sometimes called “deuterocanonical” are inspired scripture or not.

In a previous book, Why Catholic Bibles Are Bigger, Gary Michuta addressed the historical question of whether Protestants removed these books from the Bible or Catholics added them. Now, in The Case for the Deuterocanon: Evidence and Arguments, he takes on the burden of showing that they should not have been removed. Bringing together evidence from the New Testament as well as Jewish and early Christian history, he carefully builds a compelling cumulative argument that the disputed books are part of the Bible that have been given to us by the Church, guided and safeguarded by the Holy Spirit. They are Scripture in the fullest sense, divinely inspired and capable of confirming Christian doctrine.

"Gary Michuta's new book is destined to be a classic. The Case for the Deuterocanon: Evidence and Arguments makes the ground-breaking historical case for the Deuterocanonical books in the Catholic Bible. For anyone interested in why the Bible contains the books it does, this book is a must."

~Stephen K. Ray, Author of Crossing The Tiber and Host of The Footprints of God video Series

"This is a book the world has needed for centuries - and that's no exaggeration. It's complete. It's readable. It's commensensical. It's hard to imagine a greater service than what Mr. Michuta has done: to reward so many devout Christian souls by giving them the balance of divine revelation. I will recommend this book often and use it as a reference."

~Michael Aquilina, Author of The Ancient Path: Old Lessons from the Church Fathers for a New Life Today

"Gary Michuta has gathered a wealth of information on the deuterocanonical books that I have never seen collected before. Anyone who wishes to debate the subject must reckon with his evidence."

~Dr. John Bergsma, Author of Bible Basics for Catholics: A New Picture of Salvation History

"The Case for the Deuterocanon is a wholly reliable resource for every student of Scripture to gain clarity on a vital topic that sadly still perplexes many today - the Deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament. Anyone who reads through Michuta's book will gain many insights and facts to better appreciate their intrinsic value -- and the confidence to share the "good news" of these inspired and under-appreciated biblical texts. An enjoyable and nourishing book!"
