Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary (Signed by Dr. Pitre)

• What does the Bible tell us about Mary of Nazareth?
• Why do Catholics venerate Mary as we do?
• What light does Jesus' identity shed on his mother?

CP 301

• What does the Bible tell us about Mary of Nazareth?
• Why do Catholics venerate Mary as we do?
• What light does Jesus' identity shed on his mother?

  • Are Catholic teachings on Mary really biblical? Or are they the "traditions of men"? Should she be called the "Mother of God," or just the mother of Jesus? Did she actually remain a virgin her whole life or do the "brothers of Jesus" refer to her other children? By praying to Mary, are Catholics worshipping her? And what does Mary have to do with the quest to understand Jesus?

In Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, Dr. Pitre takes readers step-by-step from the Garden of Eden to the Book of Revelation to reveal how deeply biblical Catholic beliefs about Mary really are. Dr. Pitre uses the Old Testament and Ancient Judaism to unlock how the Bible itself teaches that Mary is in fact the new Eve, the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven and Earth, and the new Ark of the Covenant.

What a Fantastic book. If you are ever called to defend what we believe about the Blessed Mother, or for a deeper understanding, you will find the answers here. I bought extras to give to friends and family. I think this a must have, must read book for every Catholic.

What does it say about a teacher whom you don’t occasionally zone off on while they’re speaking—whether on the page or in a video? Dr. Pitre captures the attention with not just his well-researched material, but his genuine enthusiasm and love of The Word.

For me, I’ve had to defend my faith lately. This book gives useful information needed to defend my Catholic Marian devotion.

In addition, I’ve had to explain the Catholic perspective on whether Jesus had actual brothers or not. I don’t think I did a very good job. I wish I had read this book first. Hopefully, now I’ll be better prepared next time. Very grateful for Dr. Pitre and his obvious charisms. Praying for his ministry and that God will continue to pour out the Holy Spirit upon him and his work. Christ’s peace.

Life after Death, a Bible study on the 7 last things

This study could also be titled: the 7 most important things to know in our earthly life, as what happens when we die, affects how we live today.
Brant Pitre is one of the most outstanding teachers of Scripture.
He takes a complex topic, breaks it up into bite size chucks, articulates it in a way that is comprehensible, referencing Scripture.
He covers so much ground in a limited time frame, never a dull moment.
He has a good sense of humor too.
In this study, using Scripture, he helps us understand the many questions we ask about what happens when we die.
It is worth every cent
Michael is just so helpful in making sure, we get to access the material correctly.

This is so good that I bought two more to give as gifts!

This is a beautiful and moving study of the Triduum, my favorite time of the year. It’s also my first presentation from Dr. Bergsma, but it definitely won’t be my last.
