Have you ever wondered: How did we get the Bible? Where does the Bible come from? And why are there different Bibles? In this primer for anyone interested in Bible study, Dr. Pitre takes you through a three-part study of the origins of the Old and New Testaments. Particular focus is given to the history of how the canon, the official list of books in the Bible, came to be, and the central role the Catholic Church played in the formation of the canon. Dr. Pitre also explores the reliability and authorship of the Gospels, and whether or not we can have confidence that the canon of Scripture is reliable. This fascinating series will answer questions such as:

    • Where did the Bible come from?
    • Why are there so many different versions of the Bible?

The Origin of the Bible: Human Invention or Divine Intervention?

Haven't gotten through all of it yet, but I am liking it so far. Can't wait to listen to the rest of it.

The Origin of the Bible: Human Invention or Divine Intervention?

Great content and answers any and all questions of the history of the Bible and facing the problems and questions of today about the Bible and Protestant Bibles and why it is considered the Word Of God and not just like any book. I have been looking for answers to these questions and couldn't find a satisfactory answer anywhere except here. Highly recommend. The only thing I would say is that it would be nice if it had a table of contents and was sectioned so if you had to stop it you could easily find your place again.

Brant Pitre for the win

I needed background on the development of the canon of Scripture as part of a lecture. Honestly, Brant Pitre is my current theology crush. With so much knowledge to share and a great sense of humor, he wins the day again for me.
