The "Four Senses" used to be the common method for reading the Bible, but few modern Christians, whether Catholic or Protestant, have even heard of them.
In this talk, recorded live before a dynamic ecumenical gathering of Protestant and Catholic university students, Dr. Bergsma—a former Protestant pastor—explains what the "Four Senses" are, why they lost popularity, and how we can recover them.
Listening to this lecture from Dr Bergsma was an eye opener for me. In my discussions with protestants brothers and sister I have always noted something off in the way they read the bible. But that went beyond their principle "scriptures interprets scripture". It was kind of a template by which they interpreted scripture. Listening to Dr Bergsma gave me the perfect context to understand how we catholics read and interpret scripture and why our way is much more comprehensive. This is an excelent teaching that every catholic should know.
I am new to Catholic Productions, but already I am pleased and impressed with your professionalism. Many Thanks
