Incredible depth and detail that opened up the Mass Readings for me.
Please please put it on a DVD..
Great introduction to the catechism. Left me wanting more. We need a explanation on every paragraph.
From biblical scholar John Bergsma -- two-time teacher of the year at the Franciscan University of Steubenville -- comes this fresh, fun, and authentically Catholic introduction to the "big picture" of salvation history.
This overview of the Bible is based on Bergsma's wildly popular introduction to theology course (Old Testament and New Testament) at Franciscan University, where he is a colleague of Scott Hahn. Bergsma combines sound theology, academic expertise, pastoral wisdom, and an endearing playfulness to draw readers into the connection between the great stories of the Bible and salvation in Jesus. Central to the book's themes are Bergsma's signature illustrations of key biblical characters, which are deceptively simple but profound.

I teach Jr High Religion and I use this as my textbook for the Old Testament. The students love it so much they read ahead. They are so glad to be getting a college course on the Bible, which is what this is, and it is so interesting!
I am sure the book is great too, but I haven't had a chance to read it. Catholic Productions publishes awesome authors!
Bible Basics for Catholics: A New Picture of Salvation History (Signed by Dr. Bergsma)
I very much like this book, not just for me, but for my family to read.
Thank you so much, Dr Bergsma.
This has to be one of my favourite books!! Dr. Bergsma looks at the different covenants in the Old Testament and shows how they are fulfilled by Jesus in the New Testament! What's more, is that it is an easy read - I have given it to my teenagers who have also read, understood and enjoyed the book immensely! It has good humour and illustrative "stick figure" drawings to highlight concepts! I recommend this to all my Catholic friends as I believe it should a MUST for every Catholic!
