I really enjoyed hearing this debate, Gary presented the Catholic position with clarity and reason, all the while maintaining a christian brotherhood vibe. The last 10 minutes of the debate were especially interesting, you could hear the disconnect between the false protestant view of "once saved always saved" and how dangerous that position can be. I highly recommend!

As a protestant of 20 something years -- and 3500 protestant denominations that all change their teachings every 15 minutes and disagree with each other -- you start to wonder what's going on? Martin Luther is the father of protestant churches and reworked the scritpures to fit his theology which I hate (Catholic church has too in some case by translating Gehenna, Hades, and Tartarus into Hell -- but that's another story - Orthodox don't do this blunder) -- whenever you change scriptures to fit your needs you end up with junk beliefs. Catholic doctrine is very solid and if you're tired of the shifting sands of protestant "make it up as you go" teaching and would like to plant your spiritual feet on something substantial check out this teaching -- Salvation is by Grace and God works in us to produce good works. Even the "faith" required is by Grace. God get's all the credit. As usual -- excellent teaching that hasn't changed much in 2000 years.
Rock solid catholic teaching on the "works of the law" versus "works" in Romans.
I'm a life time Protestant but tired of the contradictions between protestant denominations and even the changes within denominations --
The protestant teacher in this debate is smart and quick and polite but no scriptural meat on his arguments -- I'll take 2000 years of apostolic understanding --
And yes, Luther the first Protestant, doctored his bible to add "alone" to "by faith" and came up with probably the first protestant teaching with a non-bible verse, "by faith alone".
