• What light does Jesus' identity shed on his mother?

CP 301

• What does the Bible tell us about Mary of Nazareth?
• Why do Catholics venerate Mary as we do?
• What light does Jesus' identity shed on his mother?

  • Are Catholic teachings on Mary really biblical? Or are they the "traditions of men"? Should she be called the "Mother of God," or just the mother of Jesus? Did she actually remain a virgin her whole life or do the "brothers of Jesus" refer to her other children? By praying to Mary, are Catholics worshipping her? And what does Mary have to do with the quest to understand Jesus?

In Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary, Dr. Pitre takes readers step-by-step from the Garden of Eden to the Book of Revelation to reveal how deeply biblical Catholic beliefs about Mary really are. Dr. Pitre uses the Old Testament and Ancient Judaism to unlock how the Bible itself teaches that Mary is in fact the new Eve, the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven and Earth, and the new Ark of the Covenant.

Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary

I purchased this book after listening to Dr. Pitre's interview with Matthew Leonard, and this book did not disappoint, I couldn't put it down. I was blown away by the content and Dr. Pitre's unmatched ability to take complicated biblical subject matter and present it in such a way that most people can easily grasp. I am a regular Pitre listener/reader, so I especially liked the new information he presented in this book, namely the Chapter on Rachel and the connection with the Book of Numbers. I am patiently waiting for Dr. Pitre to write Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Paul the Apostle lol, as well a Catholic Scholarly Book on the Apostle to the Gentiles. Dr. Pitre and Catholic Productions...God Bless you and please continue doing what you are doing!

Excellent Read

Dr. Pitre offers a lot of insightful information that I had never learned before, and he does it in a way that is easy to follow and understand. Highly recommend this book to those who have wondered why Catholics hold such strong beliefs about Mary.

The item also shipped quickly and arrived in excellent condition.

An Insightful Read.

Dr Pitre's book regarding the Jewish roots of Mary includes many already discussed topics pertaining to Mary in other books but he gives a little bit more detail regarding the jewish aspects of said beliefs. However, he makes a strong case for Mary as being a new Rachel and this is something we haven't about before. At least i haven't read it anywhere. This book alone is worth getting for his take on Rachel. Jaw dropped slightly.
