In this exciting Catholic Bible study, Dr. Pitre gives a "Eucharistic" introduction to the most spiritual and sacramental of all four Gospels: the Gospel of St. John. Dr. Pitre takes you step by step through each of the Eucharistic words and deeds of Jesus in the fourth Gospel and shows how their Jewish background illuminates the truth of the Catholic faith. He shows from beginning to end, from the Wedding at Cana to the Crucifixion, that Jesus' mission and message was deliberately focused on the gift of his Body and Blood in the Eucharist.

Throughout this study, Dr. Pitre answers common objections to Catholic doctrine, such as transubstantiation and the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. The discussion on the famous "Bread of Life Discourse" in John 6 alone is worth the cost of the entire set and is sure to leave you hungry for more of the Word of God. If you have been looking for an in-depth Catholic Bible study on the Eucharist, look no further.

The Gospel of John

I was so happy to discover Dr. Pitre. He has opened my eyes to a whole new way of reading scripture and understanding the Catholic roots of Judaism. His video series on the Gospel of John is so rich and full of those important connections between the Old and New Testaments. And Dr. Pitre delivers these complex revelations in his easy and relatable manner, and with great humor. I have become a huge fan and would highly recommend any of his books, especially the ones on the Jewish roots. Dr. Pitre is a treasure and I hope more people discover him.

Unforgettable

I have just been riveted to this brilliant series. There are too many highlights to mention them all, but I particularly appreciated the way Dr Pitre explained the connection between the Last Supper and Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross.
