Amazing what one can “get used to”. Unfortunately many of us cradle Catholics stay in the baby mode of belief. When challenged by one of the widespread mendacious hypotheses circulating today we are lost. This series helps to rekindle the desire for Truth.
I have had the Readings explain for a few years now and I love it. It gets me prepared for Sunday. Then when they added Mass explained I think they blew it out of the park. I have listened to it several times and now that they add the Latin, Georgian Chant and Incense I feel I can explain it to other people that have questions about it. I have been spreading the word.
"The Woman at the Well and the Love of Christ" is an excellent study that relates the Woman with the bride of Christ and to each one of us. I found the part "the deeper meaning of the Samaritan Woman's 5 husbands" most interesting. I highly recommend this study.
It's been a few years since I read Dr. Pitre's book, "Jesus the Bridegroom." From my recollection, this was a good summary of the book. The video is thought provoking and really makes it clear how marriage between man and woman is supposed to mirror the marriage of Christ and His Church. Well done once again Dr. Pitre!
I love Brant Pitre and he's my "go to" for anything Scriptural. Contemplating the Face of Christ is an excellent presentation on the holy rosary. However, my one critique would be that this presentation is set in a classroom format, and Dr Pitre often refers to notes that the class have in front of them, which the listener does not have. I think it would've been helpful if, as well as the MP3 download, a PDF or Word document was also attached to the order containing the class notes. However, this is just a personal opinion - the presentation is excellent, and should help people get much more from praying their daily rosary.
