Catholic Productions, L.L.C.
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This policy covers catholicproductions.com, the member portal at members.catholicproductions.com, and the Catholic Productions member app for iOS and Android. Where something applies to only one of them, we say so.
We are a two-person company in Louisiana. We sell Catholic Bible studies. We are not an advertising business, we do not sell your data, and nothing here is designed to follow you around the internet.
1. What we collect, and why
When you buy something or hold an account
-
Name, email address, billing and shipping address — to process and deliver your order and contact you about it. Held by Shopify.
-
Payment details — to take payment. We never see or store your full card number; it goes directly to the payment processor (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Stripe or Square).
-
Phone number, if you give it — order questions, and text notifications if you opt in.
-
Subscription status and renewal dates — to run your subscription. Held by Loop Subscriptions.
When you use the member portal or the app
-
A session cookie holding your Shopify customer number, an expiry and a signature — to keep you signed in. It is HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax, and it contains no name, email or password. It lasts 30 days for members, or 24 hours if you have no active subscription.
-
Where you stopped watching — the item, how many seconds in, its title and length — so that resume and “Continue watching” work. We keep the most recent 200 items and overwrite as you watch.
-
How many seconds of each item were played, by month — to pay our speakers. Recorded playback is how the royalty pool is divided.
-
Your membership tier (Mass Readings Explained only, or All-in-One) — to decide what you can play. It is re-checked live on every playback request and cached for about ten minutes.
-
Suggestions you send us through “Send a suggestion” — stored, and emailed to us, so we can read and act on them.
-
Anonymous fault reports — for example, a page that failed to list its parts. These carry an item code and a screen name, and exist so we find bugs we would otherwise never hear about.
When you use Petros, our AI concierge
Petros answers questions about our library. What you type is sent to Anthropic, which operates the Claude model that generates the reply, and Anthropic processes it in order to produce that reply. Your conversations are saved to your account so that you can return to them later, on any device where you are signed in — and so that Petros can be a companion to your study over time rather than starting again every visit. We keep them until you delete them. You can delete any conversation individually at any time, and deleting your account deletes all of them. Conversations you start but never write in are removed automatically after 30 days.
Please do not type anything into Petros that you would not want processed by a third party. It is a study assistant — not a confessional, and not a place for medical, financial or personal-crisis details.
Automatically, as with any website
IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use these to deliver the site securely, block abuse, and understand which teachings people find useful.
2. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s advertising. We do use service providers, and they only receive what they need in order to do their job:
-
Shopify — the store, your account and checkout
-
Cloudflare — hosting, delivery and abuse prevention, including the “are you human” check on Petros
-
Bunny.net — delivering the video and audio. Playback links are signed and time-limited
-
Loop Subscriptions — subscription billing
-
Anthropic — generating Petros’s replies, as described above
-
Klaviyo — our email newsletter and service emails
-
Resend — delivering some transactional email, such as your suggestions reaching us
-
Judge.me — collecting and displaying product reviews
-
Google — Tag Manager
We also do not buy information about our customers from other companies.
We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
3. Email and text
Buying from us puts your email address on our newsletter, which is how we tell people about new teachings, free content and sales. Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works. Text notifications are opt-in only; reply STOP to end them. Consent to texts is not a condition of purchase, and message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or rent either list.
4. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you
- correct it
- delete it
- stop emailing or texting you
Email info@catholicproductions.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, our lawful bases are contract (running your order and subscription), legitimate interests (security, fixing faults, and paying our speakers correctly), and consent (marketing email and text). You may also complain to your data protection authority.
If you are in California, the categories above are what we collect. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.
Deleting your account. Email info@catholicproductions.com from the address on the account, or use the account-deletion link in the app. We will delete your account, your viewing history, your playback records, and your conversations with Petros. We complete this within 30 days. We keep records of your orders and the tax associated with them for seven years, because the law requires it; those records are used for nothing else. Full instructions are on our account deletion page.
5. Children
Our teachings are made for adults. The app and the store are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.
6. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Playback links are signed and expire. Your session cookie is signed, so it cannot be edited to impersonate someone else, and it holds no password. We do not store card numbers. No system is perfect, and we will tell you promptly if something happens that affects you.
7. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and we will say so on the site if the change is significant.
